Supply check

Find the pharmacy behind the package

Before paying, ask for the name of the pharmacy that will fill the prescription and send you the medicine. Then check that name in the state record.

Indiana keeps the record

As of September 2026, the Indiana Board of Pharmacy licenses pharmacists, pharmacies, and out-of-state pharmacies that send prescription medicine into Indiana.

As of September 2026, a pharmacy in another state must register with Indiana before mailing prescription medicine to an Indiana patient. The only exception: the pharmacy board can excuse a pharmacy that sends just a few limited orders into Indiana.

Run the pharmacy check

  • Ask for the exact registered name of the pharmacy.
  • Open the facility search, which looks up licensed businesses such as pharmacies, not the search for individual people.
  • Look for a record marked Pharmacy, or Non-Resident Pharmacy, the state’s term for a pharmacy based in another state.
  • Match the name on the package to the state record.
  • Ask who answers medicine questions after delivery.

The label has a useful clue

No pharmacy name before you pay means nothing solid to check.

As of September 2026, Indiana requires a pharmacy based in another state but registered here to put a free phone number on each container it ships, and a pharmacist must answer that line at least six days and forty hours each week. Ask the pharmacy which hours those are.
